Please be advised: Learners must take Ready, Set, Bake! Buttercream Piping Skills 1 in order to take this class. Techniques in this class are more complex and basic piping skills are a must. In this class, students will briefly review skills from Buttercream Piping Skills 1 and learn new techniques to decorate cakes and cupcakes. Students should have piping bags prepared and filled with medium consistency buttercream so that they will be ready to start decorating when class begins. We will begin with a brief review then move on to learning how to make cake borders using the star tip, petal tip, round tip, and leaf tip. We will then learn how to make a few elegant buttercream flowers such as sunflower, zinnia, and ribbon rose. Learners will continue practicing these techniques throughout class. The final 10-15 minutes of class will be for students to decorate the cupcakes.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! It is so nice to meet you! I am excited to teach baking, cake decorating, and Zumba to you! When I was 6 years old, I developed a love for baking and declared that one day I would open a bakery. As I grew older, I held onto this dream but also discovered my passion for teaching. I decided to take classes to improve my cake decorating skills. Once those skills were mastered, I began teaching my own cake decorating classes. It was so much fun teaching others how, they too, can decorate beautiful cakes. When I open my bakery, in the near future, I will offer cake decorating classes so that I can continue my passion for teaching. Currently, I am homeschooling my 3 children and we are always in the kitchen working together to bake different treats such as cookies, brownies, cupcakes, and more! It makes for a fun lesson and a delicious treat afterwards. I can't wait to teach you to bake some yummy treats as well!
As mentioned before, I also teach Zumba classes. I have had a passion for dancing since I was a young girl- it's pretty much in my DNA as my family is from the Caribbean. I started taking Zumba classes a few years ago and decided to take my passion to the next level by becoming a licensed Zumba Instructor. It is so fun and exciting to dance to a variety of music that I forget that I am actually exercising and keeping my body active. I am excited to share my passion for dance with you and can't wait to have you in class!
In my free time, I enjoy cooking, doing Zumba, and playing games with my kids. Our favorite games to play are Uno and Monopoly!
I look forward to seeing you in class!
