Intermediate Level
In this discussion, critical thinking and problem solving-based course students will explore key 4th-grade skills that will be built upon in 5th grade. Each class will begin reviewing the 4th grade skill and end with an introduction to the related 5th grade skill. This class will go at a quicker pace since it is mostly review. Students will be expected to participate by having class in a quiet location with their cameras and microphones on. The course will be as follows: Meeting 1: Using operations flexibly and explore the relationship between Multiplication and Division using variables Meeting 2: Fraction Equivalence and Operations Meeting 3: Decimals and Fractions Meeting 4: More Decimals and Fractions This course will be hands on with a heavy emphasis on problem solving and critical thinking.
Learning Goals
The student will be able to add, subtract, and compare fractions, understand the value of numbers and manipulate them, and multiply and divide whole numbers.
