1 hour per week. About every two weeks students will have a writing prompt for homework that corresponds to our reading passage for the week. Optional homework could include reviewing spelling words, vocabulary, and grammar for each week.Assessment

US Grade 3
This ongoing class will review reading and language skills based on 3rd grade common core standards. This class is open for advanced 2nd graders as well as upcoming 4th graders needing review. The students will be able to think independently, then share their answers with their peers as the teacher facilitates discussion and deepens learning through guided questions. Each week, we will focus on reading a passage and answer comprehension questions based on a specific reading skill. The reading passages will include fiction and nonfiction texts and the skills include, but are not limited to: fluency, text features, point of view, sequencing, cause and effect, main idea and supporting details, compare and contrast. We will also focus on specific language skills. The language skills include, but are not limited to: spelling, compound words, parts of speech, irregular verbs, prefixes and suffixes, punctuation, possessive nouns, conjunctions, etc. *******The monthly class option is the EXACT same as this on-going reading class. The only difference is the payment being monthly (4 weeks) instead of on-going (weekly). If monthly payment plan doesn't work for you but the time of the class does, please message me. I am flexible on the enrollment and can refund you for the weeks you won't be in class. Feel free to sign up after the start date and I will refund you for the missed weeks.
