Would you like to prepare your child for kindergarten in our fun multi sensory classes? Build your childβs confidence with our twice weekly classes led by an experienced early years teacher to cover essential skills for their school kindergarten year. The first class will focus on phonics and reading/spelling, we will work through the first phase of phonics sounds learning two sounds a week and playing reading games to practise blending skills. Reading games include games such as roll and read, helping a pirate to identify real and nonsense words to win treasure etc. We will segment sounds to spell cvc words. The second class will have a numeracy focus. We will cover maths skills that would be taught in kindergarten. Examples of numeracy themes: βοΈ sorting and matching groups of objects in different ways βοΈ Touch counting objects and representing them on ten frames βοΈ Number bonds to 10 then 20 βοΈPart-whole models for composition of numbers to 10 βοΈ Addition and subtraction facts βοΈ Recognising 2D and 3D shapes βοΈ Capacity and measuring

Hello everyone! My name is Catherine and I am an experienced primary school teacher from the UK. I have a BA Honours degree in Structured Textiles and a PGCE degree in Primary Education. For the last 7 years I have been a certified teacher of early years education.

I love spending time outdoors and visiting new places with my family. I am a Mum to a toddler who is turning 3 this year. She loves exploring the world around her and it is beautiful to see her excitement as she is learning about her world.
