I'm very happy to help your child improve their reading skills! We will spend 45 minutes practicing reading, writing and/or spelling in a fun and interactive power point lesson. Parents, an account is not required for this class. I will only be using resources in a screen-share power point lesson. What will be taught? In this ongoing class, the student will sharpen their reading, writing and/or spelling skills. This lesson was created using interactive power point slides. Parents have the option to re-book my class again for future lessons. Each time, I will create an interactive power point lesson which is tailored for each individual student. What topics will you cover? Depending on the student's needs, we will meet for 45 minutes per class and review any material the student is struggling with. Grades I am qualified to teach include: 1st-6th grade English/language Arts. This includes reading, writing, and spelling. I will collaborate with each student/family to help design a purposeful lesson. Parents and I will communicate through the Outschool platform. How is your class structured? I provide a fun and safe classroom environment. Students will be encouraged to ask questions as we practice reading different stories. I will create/follow a fun power point lesson that includes interactive reading games and videos to help students understand and retain information better. How will you teach? I will teach using interactive power point slides. In this power point, I include interactive games, you tube videos, and story books which is specifically tailored for your child’s needs. What is your teaching style? I am a big believer in using 'positive reinforcement' to encourage my students. I also use verbal praise as well as (high-fives, rewards and even a prize box.) I find that many of my students are more engaged in the material when there are rewards to be earned. How much will learners get to interact with you and each other? This class is designed to have one student in class at a time. Each student will have my direct attention throughout the entire 45 minute class.
