Welcome to Waldorfunn where I teach children reading and writing skills in a Waldorf-inspired philosophy. My style of teaching is restful, loving, and fascinating. Igniting the child's imagination and interest is key to reading success and spelling mastery. As a Waldorf-inspired teacher, I nurture and engage each child through a curriculum and methodology that integrates academics and arts. I aim to engage the child's head, heart, and hands—or thinking, feeling, and willingness through the calming benefits of creative art and fascinating heartfelt stories. My utmost favorite way of teaching is through storytelling and riddles because it brings all the letters alive! Stories for younger students are drawn and inspired by classical fairy tales and moral stories. Using storytelling to teach spelling and reading increases concentration and academic retention. A lively story that ignites the imagination, artful drawings, and hands-on activities engage the child's curiosity and enthusiasm. Artfully sketching the letters will deepen the retention of the curriculum. Stories also help the child retain the teaching and easily recall the learned blending consonant sound when needed. Drawing the story allows the child to focus, relax, and enjoy writing. ...All that in a simple, fulfilling, and joyful class. At Waldorf-inspired, each tutoring class begins with a deep breath, we light up a candle and say a verse to set ourselves up for a beautiful learning experience. Similarly, each class ends with a gratitude moment, a closing song, and a farewell goodbye. My classes are created to engage beginner readers of ages 5 to 8. My class is also a great fit for second language student of age 7 to 9 We will enjoy learning critical beginner reading and spelling skills while reading and drawing classical tales.
