*Content based on learner assessment completed during the first session. In this class, we come together for lessons on reading and writing and practice those skills over a period of time. In this class we focus on lessons on topics such as: -phonics - fluency - vocabulary -comprehension - phonemic awareness - phonological awareness - writing process -informative writing -persuasive writing - narrative/creative writing - text features - note-taking/research skills The first step is an assessment to pinpoint a starting point of each student's individual areas of strengths and areas for improvement. If you have an area you would like these sessions to focus on, please, discuss it with me when I send a welcome message after you enroll. I am here to help! I will also send a message about the findings of the assessment and we can form your student's learning goals. I plan lessons for individual needs. However, all information covered will benefit everyone. This class is set to a flexible age range. Hello! My name is Ms. C. I am so excited to see you in my Outschool classroom! I offer many classes related to dogs, wildlife, science, reading, and writing. I love teaching topics from the beautiful animals here on Earth to the gorgeous stars in the sky. I love incorporating reading, art and science all together. I have my Associate’s degree in Animal Science, Associate’s degree in Elementary Education, and my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Middle Dual Education with a specialization in Science. I am a certified teacher, and I am currently a substitute teacher and an Outschool teacher. I strive to support all my students in learning and welcoming them to a safe space. I encourage creativity, pursuing interests, and a passion for lifelong learning. I enjoy reading, writing, and being outside. A hobby that has always helped me relax has been drawing or painting.
