US Grade 3 - 5
Welcome to the Reading Workshop Struggling Readers course, Part one of an eight-part series designed for 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students who struggle with reading. In this course, your child will learn the structured literacy approach to reading , which is a research-based method for teaching students how to read and attacking the key areas for readers who struggle to accurately read. Throughout the workshop, we will cover various topics, including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, and spelling. Each Part in this Workshop Series will tackle a different set of high frequency words for 3rd grade and up along with a new set of phonograms and morphems. The class is structured in a way that allows for maximum student engagement and interaction. Students will have the opportunity to interact with each other through games, slides, and video clips. My teaching style is student-centered, which means that I prioritize the needs and interests of my students. I use a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed. It is important to note that this workshop is targeted for students who are in the 3rd -5th grade and having difficulty reading. Younger students may not have the beginning skills necessary to take this course. By the end of this course, students will be equipped with the tools they need to become confident, independent readers. They will have a solid foundation in the structured literacy approach and be well-prepared to continue their reading journey in the next part of the series. Hello! My name is Mrs. JaLes and I am dedicated to proving that learning is effective when kids have the freedom to explore. What do I mean by this? From a early age our kids are learning everything from exploring (touching, engaging, inquiring, investigating, practicing, reassessing, and finally conquering). Then they start school and we add structure and try to make them fit in a box. As a homeschool educator, I challenge my students to live out of the box and achieve greatness by mastering skills based on their learning style and interests. It's truly amazing the facts my kids recall without ever working on memorization and how much improvement in their critical thinking skills I've seen in such a short time.
These are the classes I want to explore with your children!
* Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, & Division Workshops
* Writing Workshops
* Reading Skills
* Master Phonograms
*Spelling
I am currently a homeschool teacher for 2nd/3rd and 7th grader. I earned my Bachelor's of Science Degree from Oral Roberts University. Professionally, I have worked as an corporate trainer and process developer. As you can see, I enjoy teaching others.
I am a ball of eclectic fun. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling and vlogging my experience. Overall, I just enjoy living and learning as much as I can. I am excited to meet you and hope to see you in the classroom soon.
