We offer a guided reading group for beginning readers designed to encourage young readers in their reading process. We will engage in guided reading while learning sight words, decoding words, blending sounds, and practice for fluency.

Course Description A Guided Reading Group is designed to engage young learners in reading. This is a highly interactive class where all learners will have an opportunity to engage with the text. We will use guided reading material in which each child will have the chance to read at their reading level. We will decode words, work on sight words, segment words as we sound them out, and read for fluency. This class will be fun-filled; we will laugh, learn, and most importantly, read. Class...
Learners will engage in teacher-guided reading practice. Learners will learn to find the main idea of a text. Learners will strengthen their decoding skills. Learners will read for fluency.
We will not have homework for this class.
No supplies are needed
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
During class, we will check for understanding as an informal assessment.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
