US Grade Kindergarten - 1
In this class, students will learn to read words that begin with the "s" blends. This includes the blends sc, sk, sp, st, sm, sn, sl, and sw. We will also learn to read and spell three new sight words in each class. This course has four lessons in it. We will cover two blends in each class. Day 1 -- sc, sk, plus the sight words: to, will, go Day 2 -- sp, st, plus the sight words: for, can, big Day 3 -- sm, sn, plus the sight words: come, my, here Day 4 -- sl, sw, plus the sight words: one, two, three Some activities include: -choose the correct word based on the picture -sort the words by their beginning sound -climb the ladder by reading the words -listen and circle the word you hear -look at the picture and write the word -read sentences with "s-blends" in them I have a colorful slide presentation for each lesson, as well as worksheets that we will do together. Students will have opportunities to sound out words, read sentences and answer questions. I love to have student interaction in my classes and try to make learning fun.
