Description

Class Experience

Students will continue on their phonological journey and develop their skills to begin reading 2-3 syllable words. They will also work on improving their reading fluency.
I have been teaching phonics under different schemes such as Jolly Phonics, Read Write Inc and Letters and Sounds for the past 6 years in different schools in the UK, as well as a one on one (face to face and online) tutor. During my 15 years of experience as a teacher, I have worked with children for whom English is not their first language as well as with children diagnosed with dyslexia and dyspraxia.
Optional homework will be posted at the beginning of the week for each lesson. Children can choose to do it digitally or print it and do it on a sheet of paper.
Also, encourage your child to read as much as possible at home; they can aim to read for 10 minutes a day.
*Worksheets: worksheets will be sent out at the beginning of the week. Please print the specified pages for each day's work. If specific resources are needed for a lesson, parents will be notified a week in advance.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Children will be assessed through informal assessment (student participation).
2 hours 5 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
