In this ongoing comprehension class, students will introduce their pets or (toy pets) to their classmates. Next, we will read a story about different kinds of pets, and have a book talk to share thoughts, ask questions, and review vocabulary. Students will conclude with a book talk to discuss their responses to the story. I look forward to teaching through Question-Answer relationship strategies that promote an inclusive discussion about each text. The classroom provides an encouraging and positive space for students to engage with peers while building comprehension skills. Students will interact throughout the class to discuss their pets and responses to reading. Texts will accommodate students on a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-grade level.
