Description

Class Experience

In this one-time class, learners will join Teacher Jolene for a read-aloud of Pete the Kitty:  The Case of the Hiccups by James Dean.  Teacher Jolene will help lead learners through this story with discussion, a circle map & flow map (graphic organizers) and a direct draw.  Learners will be asked to share their direct drawings and writing with Teacher Jolene and fellow learners.  Class will conclude by singing songs and/or chants while enjoying a favorite snack (provided by learner’s family)....

Learners will create a circle map about hiccups; complete a direct draw of a Pete the Kitty; participate in discussions; make a flow-map (beginning, middle, and end) ; and enjoy a favorite snack while singing a few songs!

Teacher Jolene is a certified teacher (24 years) and currently teaches 2nd grade in Washington State's Public Schools.
