Beginner - Intermediate Level
This session is geared to provide phonemic awareness and spelling support to students who struggle to read. I apply the Orton-Gillingham approach to address the reading areas of need in a structured, explicitly taught fun learning environment. To ensure effective tutoring, the teacher suggests meeting 2x per week. Book additional recurring meetings after the initial purchase.- Students will learn and practice reading concepts to master grade level skills.
I have over 5 years experience as an online ESL teacher, over 10 years as a classroom teacher, a Master's degree in TESOL, and work as an Adjunct ESL community college instructor. I have been trained in the Orton Gillingham approach and work as an online Academic Teacher with students who struggle with reading challenges, dyslexia, autism, ADHD, and executive functioning.

This class is intentionally designed with principles of the Orton Gillingham approach to help students with ongoing reading and writing difficulties.
Learners are always expected to please come to class prepared with something to write with.

All external resources will be provided as a share screen and does not require student log in to access. The resource will be in the form of a question - answer game to check for student comprehension and as a brain break to help students relax and digest instruction.
