Class Experience

US Grade Preschool - Pre-Kindergarten
Beginner Level
My unique learning method increases print awareness, letter knowledge, vocabulary, reading and writing skill. Letters Make Words is designed using I do , You do, We. This will help learner see, hear and write new words. We begin with understanding the sounds of letter, move forward to words families and end with learners writing and reading new words. A stroll through “Letter Town” will review letter names, shopping in a market will point out beginning sounds, letter friends illustrates vowels, and visiting word families will assist with learning words in print.

In each session we will write and decorate our letter of the week, listen to sounds and words, complete our weekly lesson and read a story. We will use letter body movement to increase memorization; finger writing and tracing to illustrate words in print; and our lesson theme will make connection of how printed words are formed with letters.

As Outschool ACE Educator, I look forward to helping your child become a lifelong reader.

Learning never stops...
My ambition is to nurture students' desire for learning. Learning is a natural lifetime process that should never be stagnated. I began my teaching career in Early Childhood Education and continue into third and fourth grade. I am a Virtual Teacher Specialist with an MS in Educational Psychology and Instructional Design and Development K-12. Learning requires attention, retention, motivation and prior knowledge. My course materials use animation and visual presentation to engage students. I use R2D2 (read, reflect, display and do) to assist with understanding and retention. Creativity, repetition and analyzing are key factors for retaining information. Motivation and prior knowledge are incorporated through music, cooperative games and helping student associate new information with real-world experiences. I am excited and looking forward to continuing to offer Language Arts, Critical Thinking, Daily 6 Trait (Reading/Writing/Grammar) and Math skills (using Singapore Math) courses as an Outschool ACE instructor.
