Homework
1-2 hours per week. Student will receive a sight word list, weekly phonics activity, and a reading decoding passage with comprehension questions. Students should spend 10-15 minutes 3-5 days a week practicing each activity. Student should read 15 minutes daily of independent reading leveled books.Assessment
Student will be assessed formally the first day of tutoring and bi-weekly after initial session. Student will be informally assessed through weekly discussions and provided guidance and support when needed during each session.Class Experience
US Grade 1 - 3
In this reading tutoring session students will become fluent readers. Student will master sight words, phonics, word decoding, fluency and reading comprehension. Student will have fun decoding real words and reading engaging text geared toward their interest. The first day of tutoring will be used for a reading assessment this will ensure students are getting instruction tailored to their personal learning needs. My method for teaching is the I do , We do, You do practice. This allows the student to watch the teacher, practice with the teacher and try reading skills taught independently. During my lesson I will teach with my white board and sharing my screen using props, Power Point and digital learning resources. Students will be engaged with me throughout the lesson with interactive activities. This class is a great review for early literacy skills.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to read grade level books fluently. Students will be able to decode unfamiliar words. Student will be able to answer reading comprehension questions. The goal of these tutoring sessions is to build strong foundational reading skills for young readers that will aid in comprehension and confidence as students become more fluent readers.

My name is Teacher Ms. Gee. I hold a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education. I have over 10 years of experience teaching in Public, Charter and Private Schools. I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade throughout my brick and mortar classroom experience. I have taught online for five years and it has been amazing watching my students make academic progress all over the globe.
