In this class the student will read to the teacher with support and guidance. This will improve not only their skill of reading but also their confidence.

Class Experience
Reading out loud is beneficial for all readers. This helps with pronouncing sounds and words correctly, understanding punctuation and to read with inflection. Reading out loud also helps with processing skills, vocabulary, comprehension, confidence and learning to love reading. Students will gain in reading fluency, comprehension, identifying parts of a story, self-confidence and using inflection as they read aloud.
I'm a certified teacher with reading as my specialty. I have taught all age groups in reading for 19 years.
No homework will be assigned in this class.
A book if you have one to read, if not I will have one.
Informal assessment
30 minutes per class, and maybe some time outside of class.
I will be using Epic to pull stories from if they don't have a book of their own. No account by the student is required.
