Description
Class Experience
This class will teach students to understand all elements of a story from the characters to the summary of the story including beginning, middle, and end. The students will practice their listening comprehension as they enjoy a book about two silly fish. The class will be engaging for learners as I will encourage participation in a discussion about the book. We will also discuss good character since one of the fish is lacking good character. We will then make our own fish using toilet paper...
Students will improve their listening skills and attention to detail. They will be able to describe all elements of a story, as well as summarize the book. The learners will also identify good character.
Completing a project as a group
Toilet paper tube, colored paper, scissors and glue stick. (Googly eyes optional)
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
The book we will be reading is This Is Not My Hat by Jon Klassen
