Class experience

US Grade 2 - 4
This class is taught in English.
Improve reading skills, increase vocabulary, become more familiar with literary devices (plot, theme, conflicts, symbolism, foreshadowing, antagonist/protagonist), citing work, author's purpose and point of view.
I taught Reading for two years at a college preparatory academy. I served the Director of Ancillary Services tasked with planning and executing summer and winter camps at a PK-12 school. I hold a degree in Psychology and an MBA, a 150-hour master teacher certificate for teaching English as a second language courses and have served as a college counselor for almost 7 years advising students and families on the college acceptance process. I have taught middle school, have been an academic administrator in a Pre-K 12 school and was a founding director of a Learning Center. I have taught online for 3 years.
Homework Offered
Each class we will begin reading, students will finish the reading, usually two chapters, about 4-8 pages. Homework will include reading and completing comprehension, literary device questions as well as vocabulary. A book review will be due at the end of the course, much of this will be discussed in class. Please submit homework prior to the start of the next class-for example if assigned Monday, submit before the Wednesday class. Preferred one day, yet understand we are teaching worldwide so prior to the start of class is ok. Cannot submit after the class as we are reviewing homework. Please let me know of extenuating situations.
0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Students will be assessed based on participation and homework completion and correctness. Please keep cameras on during the lesson.
