Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 2
Intermediate Level
This class includes practice of different reading concepts. Each week the student will have two classes focused on a specific reading skill and the foundations for that skill. We will practice reading skills using demonstration and active participation. The student will listen to and read stories written by the teacher or the student. This will help them become aware of word use in the real world. We will also learn to answer questions about the reading to gain skills in comprehension. I stay aware of the students' needs and interests and adjust class content accordingly for the maximum learning benefit for each student. Students should know letter sounds, be reading many sight words and CVC words, and able to decode new words that have familiar patterns. This ongoing course will run for 6 weeks and can be repeated for more practice.

Welcome to your new classroom! My classes are appropriate for both the preschooler and the ESL learner. I love teaching preschool and ESL classes that help children learn in a fun, playful environment. I like to spark their curiosity and their desire to learn. I will guide your student through fun activities that help develop their skill level in many subjects. Your student will build vocabulary while exploring concepts from their daily life and environment. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education, TESOL certification, and many years teaching children in the classroom. I have over five years of experience teaching ESL to children online. I am skilled at connecting with the student on the online platform. I will provide opportunities for your student to interact with the teacher and other students. Join me to start having fun! I am a wife, mom of 3 adult children, and Mimi to 4 sweet grandbabies. I love crocheting, sewing, and playing the piano. I am learning guitar.
