Foundational Skills:

We will meet two times a week for 30 minutes each class. We will be covering the standards and skills for 1st-grade reading.
Week 1 & 2 - Long & Short A:
Phonemic Awareness - Identifying medial sounds
Reading and Comprehension questions w/short phonics stories containing long and short A words
Reading & Writing1st Grade Sight-Words
Week 3 & 4 - Long & Short I:
Phonemic Awareness - Substitute medial sounds
Reading and Comprehension questions w/short phonics stories containing long and short I words

Hello! My name is Brigitta Voss. I have a passion for kids, teaching, and living a healthy life. I have a degree in Child & Adolescent Development, a teaching credential for elementary education, as well as TESOL and TEFL certifications. I have been an educator for 20 years in many capacities. From school classrooms, online classrooms, and to the outdoors, I have enjoyed inspiring and teaching students of all ages. I would like to help your child become a lifelong learner by creating fun and engaging classes. It is important for me to create a classroom where students feel comfortable taking risks and participating. This will help each and every student make progress and reach their own goals.
I am also a wife, mother of 2, athlete, and coach. In my free time, I love cooking healthy meals, camping, hiking, and mountain biking.
