Students will learn: * What "active reading" is * How to use a textbook (students need a textbook on-hand during class) * What the SQR3 method is * How to use SQR3 method in both text and online sources There may be time at the end of the class session for questions and answers. If this is not possible, instructor will post a Q&A thread in the classroom where students can ask questions and get answers after the live session.
I have taught these reading strategies to my students and science team students for at least 10 years along with other study skills.
2 files available upon enrollmentStudents need a textbook (any subject) available from the very start of class. A reference sheet for SQR3 method and a 2-page Active Reading handout will be provided and should be printed out before class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
This course is optimal for students enrolled in online or in-person classes as well as those doing intensive self-study.
