As the class works through the text, students will be asked to share their findings and therefore will be helped, redirected, and gently (since the information is new) evaluated as they share.Class Experience
US Grade 5 - 8
In this hour-long introductory workshop on reading strategies, students will practice three reading strategies: Connection, Prediction, and Evaluation using a shared text. The strategies not only allow a reader to engage and understand a text but also make reading a lot more enjoyable. Students will learn and practice how to annotate a text using Nearpod's annotation features. They will also be asked questions to help them use reading strategies and think critically about the text.

I use Nearpod for many of my classes. A link to access the interactive lesson will be posted in the classroom. Parents will also receive a handout explaining how to use Nearpod. Students do not have to signup for Nearpod to access the lesson.
