Reading Stars Book Club: Reading, Writing, and Drawing! Ages 5-9 (Ongoing)

Students will learn how to read in this interactive and fun class. In each class, the students will read about animals, write words, draw, and even learn the letters in sign language! We will also practice high frequency words (also called snap or sight words). My experience has taught me how to help students gain confidence in reading, by not surpassing their frustration level. The students in this club will be reading books on levels A-J, which is equivalent to books written on a Kindergarten and 1st grade reading level. I will be screen sharing the books, so you do not need to provide any. It is best if the students have a notebook dedicated to this reading club. Students are welcome to bring play-doh to class to make the letters, and also to build the items from the books we are reading. 

Week of June 7th:
Class 1:
