Description
Class Experience
Learners will reinforce Spanish reading skills and increase their Spanish vocabulary to be able to hold a basic conversation by asking and answering questions about themselves.
I am bilingual in English and Spanish. I started learning Spanish in High School, taking 2 years of Spanish classes in High School and 1 year of Spanish classes at DePaul University. Those classes helped me to build a great foundation in reading fluently in Spanish and speaking the language. For the past 20 years, I have immersed myself in the Spanish language and culture. Most native Spanish speakers are amazed when they hear me read and speak Spanish because they say I do so without an English accent. I love to teach others how to read Spanish, as I know from experience that's the best way to learn the language! I have been teaching Spanish classes virtually for the past 2 years. Many students who have taken my class did not know any Spanish at first and by the end of the school year can now confidently read in Spanish and hold a basic conversation.
After each class learners will receive the same story that was read during class so they can practice reading it on their own.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I will provide an informal assessment through the private chat feature in the classroom so that parents are aware of their learner's progress and my recommendations for improvement.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
