I am bilingual in English and Spanish. I started learning Spanish in High School, taking 2 years of Spanish classes in High School and 1 year of Spanish classes at DePaul University. Those classes helped me to build a great foundation in reading fluently in Spanish and speaking the language. For the past 20 years, I have immersed myself in the Spanish language and culture. Most native Spanish speakers are amazed when they hear me read and speak Spanish because they say I do so without an English accent. I love to teach others how to read Spanish, as I know from experience that's the best way to learn the language! I have been teaching Spanish classes virtually for the past 2 years. Many students who have taken my class did not know any Spanish at first and by the end of the school year can now confidently read in Spanish and hold a basic conversation.
Each day after class, learners will be given worksheets or activities to complete through the Classroom. Each assignment should take approximately 5-15 minutes to complete.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
I will provide an informal assessment through the private chat feature in the classroom so that parents are aware of their learner's progress and my recommendations for improvement. Letter grade is provided upon request.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
YouTube videos will be used through screen share in pre-recorded videos and will be included in assignments.
