Reading Social Club for Littles!
In this ongoing class, we will focus on speaking and listening skills as well as reading comprehension. We will read a book and then discus the book all while we have fun playing with doh!

US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
Join me once per week for a hands-on learning social club! We will focus on speaking and listening skills such as turn-taking, questioning, listening, and engaging in conversations. We will also practice reading comprehension skills such as retelling, sequencing, and much more. We will do this all while playing with playdoh or any other form of modeling materials! We will read a book at the beginning of class. After the story the students will be encouraged to build something related to the story with their playdoh or modeling materials. Students will be encouraged to share their creations as we discus the story. Every week will contain a new story and a new challenge for students to complete. The session topics will be student-directed and vary each week. Each week students will need playdoh or any other form of modeling materials and tools they may want to use. Since we are focusing on speaking and listening skills, this class is heavily discussion-based.

Hello! My name is Jessica! I am currently a second-grade teacher in a public school in Pennsylvania. I have been teaching and working with children for seven years. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education with a Minor in Special Education in 2015. I also hold a state certification to teach General Education in preschool through fourth grade as well as a Library Science certification to teach kindergarten through 12th grade. In 2018 I earned a graduate certification in Instruction in the 1:1 Environment. I also earned my Masters of Education in Innovation and Technology in 2021.
I strive to meet the learning styles of all of my students. I use many visuals, audio, movements, and hands-on activities to keep my learners engaged and having fun! I teach all subjects, but my favorites are science, social studies, math, and reading. I enjoy getting lost in a good book and want to give children that same love and enjoyment for reading.
