In this one time classes students will learn about the women of the book and movie "Hidden Figures." Students will then discuss what was shared and then pick up their pencil to write a response.

Description
Class Experience
Students will be exposed to the topic of Black History in the form of the read a loud. Students will investigate how author's organize informational texts. Students will practice written response using the R.A.C.E.S format.
Classroom teacher for 5 years delivering this lesson to students in this age range. Training in culturally responsive teaching practices including "Be About It" by Get Your Teach On as well as school based trainings.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
