Skills covered: Root words, structural cues, context clues, multiple meaning words, seven steps to better comprehension, synonyms, antonyms, and extracting key details. Slides and discussion will be used to introduce and reinforce reading skills. A reading skills packet will be sent to be completed in the class as well as use for future reference. This packet will follow the slides. Welcome and overview: 3-5 minutes Skills and Strategies Lesson and exercises to work through together: mentioned above: 75-80 minutes **A quick break will be offred midway through the lesson for restroom breaks, refreshment, and to stretch a bit** Questions: 3-5 minutes-most welcome and preferred to be asked during lesson as well

Teacher expertise and credentials
Previously, I have taught Middle School Reading as a college-preparatory academy. I hold a degree in Psychology and an MBA, additional, I hold a master teacher certificate for teaching English as a second language courses. Furthermore, I have served as a college counselor for almost 5 years advising students and families on the college acceptance process. I served the Director of Ancillary Services tasked with planning and executing summer and winter camps at a PK-12 school. Lastly, I have been an academic administrator in a Pre-K 12 school and was a founding director of a Learning center.
