In this ongoing class, we will practice our reading fluency and a variety of reading skills (retelling, make predictions, asking questions) which is great for end of year Kindergarten or early First grade readers.

Class experience

US Grade Kindergarten
Students will improve their reading fluency by practicing a variety of skills and reading strategies ,as well as, work on reading comprehension in a small-group setting.
I have a degree in Elementary Education (K-6). I have taught 2nd and 3rd grade in a public school setting, as well as, over 200 classes on Outschool!
Homework Offered
Students will finish working on the extension activity after class (optional)
Assessments Offered
The teacher will check for understanding in a variety of different ways throughout the lesson. This will include thumbs-up, hand raise, and a vocal response from the student.
Grades Offered
I recommend a spiral notebook or blank white paper in a binder to keep track of our weekly reading skill activity. (A blank piece of paper will work as an alternative)
Scissors (parental guidance might be needed)
Glue Stick
Pencil
Crayons
2 printable handouts (reading passage and activity) for each week
Parents can assist with gathering materials before class if needed. Also, since this class is intended for young learners, it is recommended that the parent sits nearby and/or teach your child to push the UNMUTE/MUTE button. This will cut down on any unwanted background noise and allow the class to run as smooth as possible!

Safety during Movement Break: Students will need space to jump! Please be aware of potential hazards (including, but not limited to, needing an open workout space, proper footwear, a water bottle if needed, and adequate stretching beforehand) as well as injuries that can occur if not properly supervised.

Parental Guidance is required for the use of scissors.
