Class Experience

Learners will pay attention to details and make inferences as they read.
Learners will practice reading fluently.
Learners will build upon their vocabulary.
Learners will complete a short written response activity using proper capitalization and punctuation.
As a certified classroom teacher of 26 years, I am well-versed in teaching a variety of literacy strategies. I provide scaffolding geared toward each learner’s individual needs to help them be successful, which in turns increases their confidence as a reader and writer.
Learners are encouraged to print out the mystery the day of class to read and follow along in class, however I will also include it on the Google Slide presentation. Learners will need a writing utensil and paper for the writing activity, or they may write on their device in Word or Google Docs.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher feedback during class.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
I used material from a teacher resource book in the development of this lesson. I have been granted written permission by the publisher to use the resource for instruction, as well as to provide students with copies of the text. I will use Google Slides to project the lesson.
