Reading Rock Stars!

This course is generally for students in the 1st grade reading level range. Students should at least know their letters, be able to recognize some basic sight words, and be ready to learn different short/long vowel sounds and practice consonant blends. I do offer more advanced course sessions, so please contact me if you would like your child to take my class but they are at a second grade + reading level.

General Course Information

I will work with your child on the fundamentals of reading and vocabulary comprehension. I loved reading as a kid, and I hope to impart that same passion for reading to my students.

I assign homework every week. It is very important that parents are willing and able to print assignments and upload them (either by using a scanner or taking a picture with a smartphone). The homework reinforces what we learn in class each week.

I will assess reading levels in the first few sessions and actively work with each learner to build their skills. I tailor my own approach to meet their unique needs and help them develop a lifelong love of reading and learning!
