What Will Be Taught?
In this 8-week course (meeting twice per week), students will build essential phonics and fluency skills to become confident readers. Each lesson focuses on decoding words, improving reading speed and accuracy, and developing smooth, expressive reading skills.

How Is Your Class Structured?
Each 40-minute lesson follows a structured format to support learning:
🔹 Warm-Up Activity: Phonics discussion to activate prior knowledge
🔹 Direct Instruction: Introduction of the week’s phonics focus
🔹 Guided Practice: Interactive reading activities using Nearpod or Pear Deck
🔹 Application: Read-aloud practice with teacher guidance and feedback
🔹 Fluency Drills: Engaging activities to boost reading confidence
🔹 Wrap-Up & Exit Ticket: Reflection question, game, or quick assessment

I use a multi-sensory, interactive approach with a mix of:
Slides & visuals to break down phonics rules
Games & activities (matching, drag-and-drop, word hunts)
Read-alouds & fluency practice
Reinforce key concepts - word and sentence dictation
Interactive quizzes to check for understanding

All lessons are delivered using Nearpod and/or Pear Deck, allowing students to interact in real-time with drag-and-drop activities, drawing responses, audio recordings, and live quizzes.
