Description
Class Experience
As an experienced educator with bachelor's and master's degrees in English, I specialize in differentiated reading and writing instruction, as well as social and emotional learning. I have a background in literacy education, neurodiversity, childhood emotional and behavioral issues, and trauma-informed education. I teach both struggling and gifted students, including those with autism and various special needs. I am dedicated to supporting all types of learners. Over the past two decades, I have worked at public and Montessori elementary schools, universities, learning centers, and as a writer and editor. As a K-5 interventionist, I devised solutions to meet students' academic, emotional, and behavioral needs. I am highly skilled in multiple evidence-based modalities for reading and writing instruction and have helped many students reach grade-level proficiency. My teaching style is warm, encouraging, and interactive. Currently, I am a graduate student working toward my MSW degree and clinical licensure. I am experienced in working with children who have autism, selective mutism, anxiety, ADHD, ODD, cognitive and developmental delays, processing disorders, and executive function disorders. While your child is enrolled in my classes, I am available to address your concerns, offer guidance, and help you locate resources for your child.
