US Grade 1
In this first grade preparation camp, learners will be ready to fly into first grade reading by reviewing letter sounds, short vowel words, reading a short story and reviewing three sight words learned in kindergarten. On day one we will review short a and read a story called Mat the Cat. Day two will include review of short a as well as the first day's sight words. We will practice short e as we read the story, The Ten Eggs. Day three will focus on short i words as we read story called Mig the Pig. We will review all sight words and vowels reviewed to date. Day four will include the story, Frog on a Log and . Day five will focus on short u as we read the story, Tug the Bug. Each story will be written by the teacher. Each day will include a short review time as well as the new vowel. If time permits, we will also learn color and number words.

Greeting/Get to know you time
Class time, including teaching of given topic and practice of that skill
Closing which may include a puppet, a game, or show and tell, depending on the type of class your learner is taking. My goal is to have every child smiling and excited to return to the next class!

When I'm not in the classroom, I love to spend time outside walking or working in my yard, reading, or spending time with friends. I also like to bake bread and make cookies.
