Class Experience
US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
Have you ever wondered how your child's reading skills compare to grade level expectations? Do they have grade-level expected Phonics skills? Are they comprehending what they read? If you are asking these questions, this assessment can help! I will assess your child's knowledge/understanding of letter identification, letter sounds, rhyming, beginning sounds, spelling, concept of word, word identification, sight words, reading level (if applicable), fluency (if applicable), comprehension (if applicable), and stage of writing using a writing sample completed outside of our time together. Before the assessment, you'll have a chance to share information regarding your child's reading abilities and any concerns you have about their literacy development via the Outschool classroom. After scoring your child's assessment, I'll send you a detailed report explaining each area of testing and your child's scores. Also included will be your child's reading level (listed as a Fountas and Pinnell level and Lexile level) along with strategies to encourage their progress. Further questions can be answered after you view the report. If you do not see a time that works for you, please message me to set-up a time.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Virginia Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Hi! My name is Molly. I am a wife and mother to five (James is 6, Collin is 4, and triplet 2 year olds, Grace, Hazel, and Nellie!). I received my B.A. in Psychology and Public Policy from The College of William and Mary in 2009. I received my M.A.T.- Elementary Education from Liberty University in 2011. I have 5 years of formal classroom experience. I spent 4 years teaching Kindergarten and 1 year teaching 1st grade. I also served my brick-and-mortar school as an International Baccalaureate program coordinator. I have spent the last several years as an online ESL teacher to students across the world.
I LOVED teaching in the kindergarten classroom because it taught me that learning can be magical. I have learned how to channel that momentum to create wonder and engagement in little learners. I like to incorporate a lot of movement and song into my classes and believe in learning with the whole body. I view my role of teacher as the guide and know that students learn best through the hands-on, engaging experiences that I am able to provide for them. I have a passion for teaching early literacy skills and like to incorporate aspects of math, science, art, and other disciplines into my lessons whenever possible.
My classroom will always be positive, inviting, interactive, and engaging. I am so excited to meet your child. I cannot wait to be a part of your child's educational journey!
Let's learn and have fun together.
- Miss Molly
