In this week-long class, students will travel through the seasons as they practice reading aloud five adventurous stories from the classic "Frog and Toad All Year." Each day students will take turns reading one chapter (one story) from the book. At the end of each...
Students will practice reading and participating in book discussions. Students will demonstrate comprehension through discussions, event sequencing, and questions.
I LOVE to read! It is my favorite pastime. I believe every child should have well developed reading skills. A solid reading foundation is critical for all areas of life and learning. While homeschooling, I taught all five of my children to read using various methods. For some, it was a breeze. For others, it was a struggle. To develop essential reading skills learners need practice and encouragement. I am a patient teacher who has experience guiding early readers in a fun and encouraging way.
A copy of "Frog and Toad All Year" if desired by student, but not necessary. I will screen share my book in class. A print out for the sequencing of chapter events. I will email this handout to the learners 24 hours before class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
2 hours 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
