Description

Class Experience

Learners will learn to break words into individual phoneme sounds and identify the letter that makes that sound.  Learners will begin reading simple words and sentences.  Learners will begin to write simple words and sentences.
I am a certified Reading Specialist K-12 with a Masters of Science in Reading Education.  My lessons are firmly rooted in the science of reading.  I have 20+ years teaching reading in Pre-K through grade 5 in public and private schools.  I began teaching reading as Director and Head Teacher of Preschool.  I spent several years as a Reading Specialist in a public elementary school working with grades K-5.  When I became a military spouse (moving every 2 years), I transitioned to virtual teaching  I have been with Outschool since June 2018.
Each week, learners will be given activities that support the skills learned that week.  Activities may include print outs and demonstration videos.  Completed activities will be posted in the classroom or shared through private messaging with the teacher.

Teacher will informally assess students each week through the "You Do" activities.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
