US Grade Preschool - 1
Beginner Level
🎯Students will begin this class by playing an engaging phonemic awareness rhyming game. They will then exercise their brains by manipulating letter sounds to create new words. Vocabulary words from a leveled book will be introduced. The main focus will be on reading a beginning level book taught in an engaging and educational way with an experienced, licensed educator. This class is for beginning readers or readers who want to strengthen their letter sound skills, reading vocabulary, comprehension and develop a love of reading and become stronger readers. Feel free to enroll your child for repeated classes, the word work, rhyming focus and book will change with each class. Or you might want to consider enrolling your child in my one on one tutoring sessions. Send me a message, if you would like more information or to see if your child will be a good fit for this class. Hi! Welcome to my Outschool classroom.
My name is Betty Nilssen. 💕
I have a BS in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish from UW-Milwaukee. I am a first grade teacher, but I have also taught second, third and fourth grade, full inclusive classrooms. My teaching license certifies me to teach grades 1~6. My passion for teaching reading while incorporating phonics, phonemic awareness, rhyming, comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, science, social studies, math, drawing and writing helps children strengthen their academic skills while they gain academic confidence and a love of learning. Teaching reading is my super power. I can support your young learner.
I have three adult daughters and two of them are teachers. My mom was also an educator.
There are so many books to read, words and sentences to write, math equations to solve and fiction and non fiction pictures to draw and label. Let's get started!
