Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 7
In this on-going class learners will learn about a current event that is going on in our world. Each child will be responsible for reading through a weekly article that is taken from our current news headlines found from reputable kid friendly news sources and then coming to class with questions that we can discuss as a group. The article will be age appropriate for your learner. Then we will complete a thinking map with all of our newly discovered information.

Learners will be reminded when the class begins that this is a safe place for discussion. They will be made aware that while not everyone may agree with everything that is said that they are expected to be respectful of each other’s opinion.

This class will be a lecture and discussion based class led by a Certified Elementary Teacher. Students are strongly encouraged to come to class ready to participate in the discussion. To be prepared they will need to have read the weekly article and ready to pull information from it to discuss. This class is great for all students who want to enrich their knowledge about the different current events. It is most appropriate for learners between the ages of 8-13.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their knowledge on current events as well as work on their public speaking skills.
