Reading Halloween CVC Words With Room on the Broom
In this one-time class, students are introduced to phonics and reading with Halloween and Room on the Broom as the major theme. As a class, we will focus on letter sounds/phonics, building CVC words, and learning how to read the words.

US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
*Note* This is not a book reading, but we will be using recognizable Halloween images from Room on the Broom to focus on letter sounds, phonics, and word building with CVC word families. Each student will get a chance to speak and to sound out and read the CVC words with gentle guidance. They will enjoy learning to read the Halloween CVC words together and we will sing a special song. We will also play a fun game of memory at the end of class where the students will try to find a match. The younger students will love it! Students can feel free to wear their Halloween costumes, bring a Halloween-related plush toy, characters, or other toys to class, as they will each have a chance to show and tell at the beginning of class.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their phonics skills through word-building, reading CVC words, singing songs, playing an interactive game, and talking about their favorite Room on the Broom words! Good for both native English speakers and ESL learners.
