-This class is designed to encourage young readers to commit and follow through on finishing a book. Having accountability and others to come along side you in your journey is motivating. -Chapters will be read at home according to the weekly schedule: Week 1: Chapters 1-8 Week 2: Chapters 9-16 Week 3: Chapters 17-24 Each week the teacher will lead a time of discussion through a series of questions pertaining to the chapters that were assigned. We will cover the following criteria for EACH chapter: -questions to verify that assigned reading was done -questions for reading comprehension -questions for analysis/critical thinking skills -This class will meet (1) time a week for 45 minutes and for a total of (3) weeks. Carry on, Mr. Bowditch is a maritime biography that explores the life of Nathaniel Bowditch, his discoveries and accomplishments. Let’s start this reading journey together and finish it together! Learning Goals
-Students will commit to and finish a whole book: Carry on, Mr. Bowditch.
-Students will encourage each other through classroom interaction and by working as a team toward the end goal of finishing the book as a class.
-Students will understand the characters, plot, setting and overall theme of the book through class discussions.
-Students will be inspired to continue reading the series on their own.

Supply List
Each student is required to purchase their own copy of the book Carry On, Mr. Bowditch. It can be used or new, printed or digital.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Other than art and landscape photography, I have a passion for nutrition, translation and simultaneous interpretation, serving others through child/senior care, reading, crafting, hospitality and Christian ministry/theology.
My calm, kind and friendly personality is sure to appeal to a variety of students. I have been described as " a natural encourager" and work hard at creating a positive learning environment in order to promote student participation. I promise to always treat your learner with the respect and love they deserve.

📚 Where I have taught:
I have been teaching on Outschool for 5 years but have also had the opportunity to work in person with a wide range of ages from toddlers to highschool students and even adults pursuing their GED. I have also had the privilege to own a daycare center/preschool academy. This has formed a special place in my heart for early childhood education. I have hosted a variety of workshops and classes in Spanish for couples, families and leaders at church as well. Currently, I homeschool my own child and I run two private book clubs; one for adult women and one for bilingual teens. I also host private virtual crafting parties and volunteer my time for digital design with a non-profit.Reviews
