Students will become more confident, fluent, and independent readers with a strong vocabulary.

I am a certified elementary teacher and certified reading teacher. I am offering this class to give students an in-depth study of how our English words are structured, and how to break them down into their sounds in order to make decoding easier. Once students have mastered the decoding techniques, they can more readily apply them to the guided reading activity. 

I teach each lesson using the Phono-graphix method which I have been formally trained in by the program authors.  I have been using this strategy with my private students for over 20 years and my students have had amazing success with it. 

Homework Offered
Students are encouraged to write a sentence using the vocabulary word of the day. This is an optional assignment but highly recommended. Students may share the sentence they come up with in class, share it on the classroom page, or send it in a message directly to the teacher.

Assessments Offered
Learners' progress is assessed informally through observation during class activities.
Grades Offered
Grades are available upon requests made before starting the class.
