Beginner Level
Help your child to become a confident reader in our fun and engaging phonics and reading class. We will become phonics detectives practicing reading confidence through playing phonics games. We will be blending, segmenting and recognising real and nonsense words. We will be identifying missing words in sentences and practising reading sentences with fluency. Each week we focus on sounds from phase 3 to phase 4 phonics. We will look at digraphs and trigraphs such as ch, sh, ng, oa, ai, er, air, nch etc Throughout the weeks we will play games such as βI spyβ, βburied treasure gameβ, βhelp the aliens to read gameβ βsentence scrambleβ and more! The teacher will model separating the sounds in words and blending these together to read the words. No equipment or materials are needed for each class.

Hello everyone! My name is Catherine and I am an experienced primary school teacher from the UK. I have a BA Honours degree in Structured Textiles and a PGCE degree in Primary Education. For the last 7 years I have been a certified teacher of early years education.

Children will use multi sensory approaches to learn phonics through exciting games and learning activities.
I love spending time outdoors and visiting new places with my family. I am a Mum to a toddler who is turning 3 this year. She loves exploring the world around her and it is beautiful to see her excitement as she is learning about her world.
