Description

Class Experience

Students will increase their comprehension - both literal (who is the main character) and inferential (why did the character do X)
Students will improve their fluency by reading smoother and with more expression
(This is an incidental goal - I will work on decoding skills as necessary) Students will improve their decoding abilities by learning new phonics rules and practicing in authentic texts
I am an educator and tutor with over 12 years experience in the the classroom, with small groups and 1:1. I deeply enjoy getting to know my students and celebrating victories large and small with them as their reading and writing skills progress.
If you have a whiteboard and dry-erase marker that would be helpful but it is not required.
A short verbal summary will be provided to the parent/adult at the end of class if requested.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
