I am a certified elementary K-6 and special education Pre-K-8 teacher. I have been teaching reading, math, science, and history for over 10 years. Over the past 6 years, I have taught reading/language arts (4 years) and history to 5th and 6th grade students, while also providing 1-on-1 tutoring support in all core subjects (reading, math, science, history). Prior to that, I substitute taught and tutored in grades K-12.
No homework will be assigned. I am happy to provide extra practice upon request!
Learners will not need any materials for this course. I will provide a "cheat sheet" after each class on the covered topic that week as a reminder for learners and to supplement the lesson. Learners are encouraged to keep their "cheat sheet" handy for the next time they might learn about these reading/language arts topics!
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Learner progress is assessed in this class through informal assessment (discussion, group questions) and independent practice (learner will try some examples on their own).
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Personal teacher created resources (i.e. PowerPoints, practice worksheets). YouTube videos on topic of the week will be shared within our Classroom Posts.
