In this one-time class, we will be reading The Three Little Pigs by Becky Castle and learning reading comprehension strategies for kindergarten and first grade. We will be learning three strategies which are activating background knowledge, analyzing text structure, and questioning to comprehend the story. I will google slides to help tell the story as the students answer questions along the way. Having activating background knowledge will help them connect the current reading to their already existing knowledge and make the new reading more stimulating and engaging.
