Description

Class Experience

     Reading comprehension skills are necessary for academic success. The class is designed for any student needing to practice reading fluency and reading comprehension skills.

     In this course students will learn to uncover the clues to understand what they read. Learners will practice reading aloud (fluency), learn new vocabulary (context clues practice), practice reading comprehension strategies such as main idea, details, inference skills, character analysis, author's purpose, and...

Students will -
Practice their oral reading skills of fiction and non-fiction passages.
Learn and practice reading comprehension skills and strategies
Learn how to use context clues to figure out unfamiliar vocabulary
Be assisted with fluency 
Work on diving deeper into the text

I provide weekly extension activities after class to review the skill we worked on in class. These are optional and are not graded by me, but I do provide the answers.

I am happy to provide my assessment of your student. I do provide my observations and suggestions for students every couple of week. However, do not hesitate to reach out to me as well.

40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
