Class Experience

⭐️ In this small group comprehension class students will learn and practice reading fiction for comprehension (During class Teacher will screen share all stories as teacher and students engage in a ReadAloud/Shared Reading). Students will learn how to ask and answer question about key ideas and details in various genres of fiction stories. The core goal of this class is to help students use various reading graphic organizers to help build reading comprehension skills.

⭐️ My method for teaching is the I do, we do, you do practice. This allows the students to watch the teacher, practice as a class and try answering comprehension questions independently. During my lesson I will teach with my white board and sharing my screen using props, PowerPoint, and digital learning resources. Students will be engaged with me throughout the lesson with interactive activities and games. This class is a great review for early literacy skills!

⭐️ The stories used in this class will primarily range from end of 1st grade to 2nd grade level. However, first graders who are already reading at level and third graders wanting extra reading comprehension practice are welcomed. This class is intended for early readers who can read independently at a book level between H thru L leveled books. (This level is middle first grade to end of 2nd grade reading level.)
⭐️ Note: This class will only focus on reading comprehension skills. Please refer to my other classes for reading skills and decoding words.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello!
My name is Teacher Ms. Gee. I am a Certified Teacher. I have over 10 years of experience teaching in Public, Charter and Private Schools. I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade throughout my brick and mortar classroom experience. I have taught online for four years and it has been amazing watching my students make academic progress all over the globe.

I look forward to teaching fun, exciting and engaging lessons to the students on Outschool. My courses will offer supplemental lessons and extra practice for early elementary students to reach their full academic potential.

I really enjoy helping students build strong foundational skills in phonics, reading, and math. I love integrating subjects and getting students immersed in the learning process in an interactive and creative way.

I am a firm advocate for small group and differentiated learning. I also believe in teaching the whole child including academics as well as social emotional learning through literature. As a teacher I have seen students enjoy learning when lessons are fun and tailored to meet their individual needs.

So what do I enjoy doing when Im not teaching??
I love traveling, roller skating, riding my bike and going to the beach. I also enjoy spending time with my family doing fun activities and exploring new adventures.

⭐️See you in Class!⭐️
      Teacher Ms. Gee
