This weekly ongoing class is a private section of one-on-one Reading Remediation for students in 3rd-5th grades (or ages 8-12).  I will use research-proven Brain Based instructional strategies to help students who are struggling with Reading Comprehension and Fluency.  I am here to help your child grow their Reading Skills with solid instruction in a caring and fun learning environment!

I have been a teacher for 19 years, 16 of those years specifically teaching 3rd-5th grade Reading and ELA.  I have excellent knowledge of standards and am highly skilled at delivering lessons and information in a fun and engaging way.  I also have 12  years of experience in Brain Based Instruction and Remediation of Struggling Readers.

Each week's session will include: 
👀 building Sight Word Vocabulary (with hand motions)
 🧠 Memory Building or Vestibular Activity 
🖍️Color Coding a Short Paragraph
📖Repeated Reading and Discussion
🙋🏼‍♀️Wrap Up

The brain and body connection as it relates to Reading is extremely important!  Your learner will need a working space as free of distractions as possible, as well as room to get up and move when we do Vestibular and Movement Activities.  

I will ask students to review the reading we did in class as well as practice Vestibular Activities outside of class.  It's not required, however, any extra practice time will increase student's growth and further cement what we worked on that day.
